Granular adhesion
+56%
Granule retention
on 30-year / end-of-life shingles
Why it matters
Granules are the shingle's shield against UV and weather. Once they shed faster than the asphalt can hold them, the shingle wears out from the surface down.
What the test found
Treated shingles held their granules significantly better than untreated shingles of the same age, and the gap widened as the shingles got older.
